About BETMA
The Balkan Engineering, Tech & Makers Association Capacity Map -- a unified directory of manufacturing and engineering resources across the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe.
The problem
There is no single, reliable, searchable directory of engineering capacity across the Balkans. Manufacturing vendors, university labs, research centers, and maker spaces are invisible across borders. Existing platforms like Thomasnet, Europages, and Kompass are Western-centric with thin Balkans coverage. National chamber of commerce databases are shallow -- name plus sector code, no machine-level data. No platform currently enables a search like:
“Who can do 5-axis CNC machining in aluminum, ISO 9001 certified, within 200km of Belgrade, accepting prototype quantities?”
BETMA fills that gap.
